    Walther PPK 1935-1938?

    Found a Walther PPK in my grandpa's storage while doing some cleaning. was told it was given to him long time ago from a friend and its been in storage since then. After doing some google research the s/n places it a 1935 model but the ss is at 60 degree and ppl saying its a 1938 a model cuz thats when they switch over from 90 to 60. It also has a Crown over N on main body and a little faded one on the slide. Dont know what im planning for it atm just getting more info on it if anyone knows more details about it. what would be the sale value in its condition ( Has a line crack on handgrip plastic right side and little specs of rust here and there)? do i need to file a firearm ownership record if i tend to sell or keep it if then gun is that old?

    S/N: 869XXX shows it at 1935 on this site.

      That is a valuable PPK. Have one of your parents gift it to you and do an intra-familial transfer.

          Where exactly is this "line crack" and do you have a photo? Any crack would have a substantial effect on the pistol's value.

              There's a crack in the right side grip, pehaps that's what he's referring to. Starts at the screw slot and runs up to the logo.

                      I'll go out on a limb and guess $700-800 based upon some others I saw on Gunbroker's completed listing. You could ask more and might get it. The grip crack and rust will hurt the value, but having the bakelite fingertip extension magazine is a plus.
