Is this a "drop in" mod I can do? If so,is it a better caliber choice for HD than .40? So, I'm thinking using the .40 for range/practice due to more readily available /cheaper ammo and the .357 for at home. I understand having to be careful of ammo/barrel mix ups. Has anyone done this, and if so,are you glad you did?

.357 sig barrel for G23?

I have the lone wolf 9MM conversion barrel and its been great. Personally, nothing impresses me about .357 sig ballistics to even warrant the thought. 180 grain Federal Hydrashocks or T series ammunition seems more than adequate for home defense.
Back to the question though my understanding is yes, the 357 barrel is a drop in conversion.Slayer of abalone and lingcod. -
It's a drop in barrel. I have both a G31 and G23 for carry. The G31 (.357SIG) is way better for shooting thru cars, but the 40S&W should work fine for home defense.Comment

You can get a Glock OEM 32 model barrel that will fit your G23. For velocity sake, .357SIG has is higher therefore can over penetrate. Stick with .40SW for HD.
Very happy with my .357:

I have a G31 and G32 (.357 sig) with both 9mm and .40 barrels as well. I actually like shooting .357 sig quite a lot, but the ammo is almost prohibitively expensive unfortunately. All of them work great, I've been shooting mostly .40 though through them. YMMV
That said, I'm thinking of buying another case of .357 sig for the range anyway. Meh.Comment
