Looking for your thoughts on the G17. Tried one a few times at the range and might add one to the collection. I have the G19 and like it a lot but as much as I like it, I am looking for a bigger grip. I am also about to pick up a G21, but my get the G17 first if I get some solid input.

You can't go wrong with a G17, it's what put Gaston Glock on the map. The G17 mags are compatible with your G19 as well.
What do you plan on using it for? Home Defense? Plinking? LTC?
If you want to try a G21SF you can shoot mine, I'm local in North OC, just bring your own ammo!

I appreciate the offer to try your G21, but I have shot one at the range several times lately. I really like that gun. Now for the G17 I do like the fact I can use the G17 mags in my G19. I will use it for range, home and maybe some GSSF or other competition. You can't go wrong with a G17, it's what put Gaston Glock on the map. The G17 mags are compatible with your G19 as well.

G7, 17,19,20,21sf,22,23,27,34, 35. Ok 9, all great guns. My safe was starting to resemble a black hole so I tried to find some OD ones. Rare, and when they did appear they were just a rip-off. Was looking fro someone in San Jose to Ceralote a couple just to add some color, would have been cheaper, but to no avail. Now i see them appearing a tad more reasonably priced and not being snapped up in minutes. Dang. Anyway, the G17 is a great gun and reasonably priced. plus, as another poster alluded to, the G17 is truly an important piece of firearms history.Currently reading a history of Glock, Very interesting."Hence it happened that all the armed prophets conquered, all the unarmed perished." - Niccolo MachiavelliComment

The popular Recommendation is "everyone should have a G19 in their collection".
Meh. Everyone should have a G17. JMO.
I bought one after I watched this video BTW

G17 is a great gun, but I'd get the G21 before it since you have a G19....It's ok to be jealous. We understand your animosity. We live the life you wish you had. And of over 4000 universities and over 1700 division 1 schools, only one is simply known as "The U"Comment

Just picked mine up today. I got a G21SF first. I love my G21SF. But the ammo is kinda pricey. I didn't want to lose muscle memory & wanted to keep the same trigger discipline. So I bought a G26 & G17 to get more range time in. But for HD, it's definitely the G21SF.Comment

If the grip fits your hand, then by all means get the G17. I have small/medium hands, so my fingers start slipping onto the finger grooves once I start shooting. And on the third day, God created the Remington bolt-action rifle so that man could fight the dinosaurs. And the homosexuals.Comment
