    beretta 92 or M9

Hey guys, need some help...Im going to be purchasing my next handgun, and Its going to be a Beretta...Right now I have a G20, and want to add a 9mm to the family...I know the main differences between the 92 and M9 are the trigger guard and rail (please correct me if Im wrong), but is there any other difference? Any reasons I should consider of going either route? If I go the 92 route, Im going to want an Italian built, and if possible to find, an Italian Inox. How hard would it be to find an Italian Inox?
Please give me all your suggestions...and if you got one to sell, send me a pm!!!

    TIA

I own a m9 chose it over the 92 because I just prefer the 2 dot sights compared to the three dots, really other than the sights and roll marks I don't think there's much difference between the two pistols.

There is no rail on the M9 or the 92. The M9-A1 or 92-A1's have rails.

Where are you located? Last time I was at Bay Area gun vault, they had one.

nope. when you refer to the M9 folks are gonna think you're referring to the non railed model thats been used by the military since the 80's. the M9-A1 was only adopted buy the marines within the last couple of years.

Yup, passed on the M9 because I like the 3 dot sights. Also, I like the little warning label on the side of the 92 that tells you to read the instruction manual, lol. I can't wait to shoot mine, that thing is a beauty...

I chose the 92 because I wanted an original Italian made. Main difference is the sights and the current 92 has a polymer trigger, safety, takedown pin, as well as a polymer guide rod. I switched out the guide rod to the titanium one from beretta. Other than that they are really the same gun. Usually an M9 costs a little more.

There are small differences between the M9 and 92FS. The M9 has a straight dustcover and original shaped grip. The 92FS shares the 96's reinforced slanted dustcover and has a shaped portion of the grip frame which is meant to reduce the trigger reach. If you compare the two weapons side by side these differences are much easier to see. The dustcover is purely cosmetic on 9mm models, but the shaped grip frame of the 92FS may fit you better than the M9's legacy backstrap.

Got the M9 because it sounds better. Changed the grips with Alumagrips and polished the barrel to match the new stainless steel guide rod, which replaced a stupid plastic one.

you really can't go wrong with either one. Hold the 92fs and the M9 in your hands and see which one you like better. I picked my M9 up at the Gun Exchange in San Jose.

I am the opposite. I hate the 2 dot M9 sights. I get 92s instead

Very informative. I eventually plan on getting one of these classic beauties.
