Glock 34 Accuracy?

I've grown very interested in the G34, I'm almost convinced that it will be my next purchase. What kind of accuracy should I expect from one of these out of the box?

It's soul purpose will be for just slow fire range fun.

An out-of-the-box Glock in any flavor will shoot as well as you're able.

While I can't comment on many other Semi-autos as I don't much shoot them, I do own a G34 and am very impressed. I'm a revolver shooter and decided to join the 21st century a year or so ago after some research decided on the Glock and then decided on the G34 as it has all the goodies in one package from the factory.

You asked about accuracy, this gun makes me look good. I shoot cheap ammo religiously and have never had a range session where I didn't say "Wow" afterwards. While you're not looking at groups you measure with a micrometer, I would say a three inch average at anything inside of 25yds is the norm.

I can't imagine why anybody wouldn't love this gun unless it just doesn't fit you physically.

Sounds Great, it'll probably be the 1st Glock to be added to my collection.

Anybody have any pics of their g34s or targets shot with them, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to check 'em out.

I also own one. I'm NOT a Glock fan to begin with. I'm an H&K and Ruger fan myself. I've owned the G21, G22 and G34 handguns for training/ work because I thought it obligaotry in today's gun world.

The G34 is the only Glock that I take to the range "for fun" on my days off.
Its wicked accurate and the only thing I would recomend changing is to swap the extended mag release out for a "standard" one. It cut up my thumb before I swapped it out (takes about 2 minutes easy)

If I were to recomend a Glock, it would be the G34 or G35. Personally if I had it to do again I would buy the G35 (same as the G34 but in 40S&W) and a spare 9mm barrel and amgs from one of the many suply houses online. You see, with a Glock you can swap DOWN to a 9mm barrel using a 40S&W caliber slide and internals. You can't swap UP to a 40S&W later because of the breach face of the slide. I'm big on swapping calibers whenever possible. I'm a utility mainded guy at heart. If you only want to ever shoot the 9mm, the G34 would be perfect for you then.

G34 shoots better than my G19.

But Glocks shoot great, if you like them.

And practice and practice and practice.

G34 got a lighter trigger, which is nice.

Extended slide lock, extended mag button... great features.... (I upgraded my G19 with those....)

The longer barrel gives better muzzle velocity as well as less of a muzzle flip and recoil, but we are talking about a 9mm, so.......

Personally, I think shooting a heavier bullet out of it (147JHP is what I use), gives the more of a solid punch than a spikey snap.

The Glock 34 was the first firearm I ever shot. I've tried other pistols -- some 1911s, some revolvers, some Sigs. But I always go back to the good old Glock 34. The balance is perfect, the grip angle is perfect, and it's more accurate than I am. What's not to like?

I've actually considered the 35 for the same reasons you suggested. I might go that route if the G35/22's grip circumference is the same as the G34/17's.

You hit the nail right on the head. The Tactical/Practical's out-of-the-box configuration would be the same mods I would have probably performed were I to purchase a G17/19.

I been a CZ75b, 1911, and a Sig guy, but another point about Glocks that interests me is it's ability to be easily detail stripped, if it's as simple as a 1911 I'll definitely ad a few of them to the collection.

The only thing I change on my G34 was with a night site - the original adjustable site sucks (and keep moving)...

G34 is better than G17 (IMHO) because:

1. Longer barrel
2. 3.5# trigger

Obvious, you can change all the above in your G17/19/etc. as well.


I use it for IPSC/IDPA/tactical match... excellent!

it will have no problem outshooting the operator. my g35 can one hole 10rds at 15yds all day

G35, G34, G17, G17L, G22 (probably some others I forget) all use the same frame. Just the slides are different

If you really wanted to... you could get a G35, buy two barrels and be able to shoot
9mm
40S&W
357 sig

Glock long slides are VERY accurate...with a proficient shooter.

Accuracy is 90% the person holding the gun/squeezing the trigger. IMHO, YMMV of course.

I prefer my glock 17L over a 34 though. Old school guy here.
