First 1911...SA Loaded would be hard to beat.

But really any of the ones listed would be fine (I own all 3).

The RO is off-list, so you will have to SSE it (add $75-$100).

The Loaded is a true "series 70" 1911 if that matters to you (no firing pin safety, internal extractor) and it has "combat" night sights.

The Sig has an external extractor and a non-standard slide profile (many 1911 holsters won't work).

If it were me, I would decide what kind of sights you want first. If you want fixed sights the loaded is the way to go. I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices.

Decide what features you want and then buy a gun that already has them. It will be much cheaper than trying to change the gun later on.

Sig now has the "traditional" slide models as well as the Sig non-standard slide models. Can't get one without the EE however.

SA Loaded comes in about 12 different specific models...fixed combat, combat night and target sights are available depending on the model chosen.

Very correct that is is better to buy with the features you want vs. upgrading later.

Buy the one that has the features you want, and that you can actually get. It wouldn't do you any good to want a model that you're sitting on a waiting list for a year for(unless you don't mind waiting...)

Median price-point on the RO is about $775, plus an estimated $61.87 in interstate tax at .0825, plus $100 for transfer and single-shot conversion, and another $25 for DROS brings the total to $961.87 to own an RO. IMO, not worth it when you get more in the Loaded for the same price. The ONE reason to get the RO would be based on the lack of FCS, assuming you don't like them.

Production pistols will generally have a pull weight of 5-6 pounds. With the exception of GI-based pistols, most 1911's have decent pull out of the box.

Whichever one has the features that you want. The SIG will have the most for the money, front strap checkering, undercut trigger guard, plus all of the features of the RO and Loaded.

They will all have a decent trigger out of the box.

You can't go wrong with any of them, IMO.

Not sure what happened to my previous post, but for me, you cannot compare the Sig Target to the SA RO or Loaded as far as how they shoot out of the box. I had the Sig first and loved it. I then got the RO and soon lost any interest in shooting the Sig. It wasn't as tightly built and did not feel as solid in the hand during the shooting process - resulting in less accurate and precise shots when compared to the RO. I sold the Sig and then a Loaded popped up, so I bought that and it is my go to gun for every range trip. The RO has since stayed in the safe..

Never shot the Sig, but I have 2 Loadeds and a RO.

First: There are a bunch of different Loaded configurations, so it's not necessarily a direct comparison. One of my Loaded SAs has a similar sight setup to my RO, but in a USPSA shoot last week, the RO was my first choice. The Loaded hung out in my range bag as a backup, just in case. Only mods to the RO are a FO front sight. It needs a magwell, but that's another issue.

I guess what it comes down to is, what are you going to do with it? IMO, the Loaded is a better "jack-of-all-trades" while the RO is a great range/match gun.
