    wtb 1911 9mm

I've been looking over the 1911 9mm for some time. I know several mfg's make em. My main reason for the 9 is because the cost of ammo is half the price of 45 and I can use it for competitions.

With that said, can I get opinions from owners of 1911 9mm hg's?

What do you have, do you like it overall, would you buy it again or what would you rather have?

I've looked at em all and I'm thinking a Colt 38 Super, 1911 and throw a 9mm barrel in there.

    What says you...?

    btw I already have a SA 1911 9mm

Just curious, if you already have that sweet-looking SA 1911 in 9mm, why are you wanting another?

I thought of the same idea, finding a 1911 in 9mm. Can you tell me where you looked for the 1911's in 9mm?

The 9mm 1911's are a sweet shooting gun. My wife loves hers 'specially her brand new 1 1/2 lb. trigger, but if the main purpose is for competition, you'd probably need to figure out what class/classes and type of game you want to shoot in 1st before putting money down.

To my knowledge the 9mm 1911's fit into ESP in IDPA, but in IPSC, you'd be shooting minor in L10.

Last time I was at Martin Retting in Culver City, they had some Springfield Armory 1911 in 9 mm. I haven't seen them somewhere else.

That sounds like a question my wife would ask me

Sorry. The reason I was asking however is likely very different than the reason your wife would. I'm considering the purchase of a SA 1911 in 9mm, like yours, and was curious if there were reasons you wanted to upgrade. Are you happy with the SA? Or are there issues/reasons that you are looking into different makes/models?

I've also been looking for a 9mm 1911 for CCW. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Para Carry 9 LDA.

I luv my SA 1911. I have read about people complaining about them though. Mine has a crisp trigger, always goes bang and is more then accurate enough. I like it so much I want to get another 1911, but not the same exact one.

Besides the Colt 38 Super I've been looking at the Browning Hi Power. I dont think I care for it as much as a true 1911 though.

Kimber has a few 9's that have caught my attention.

Also Springfield Armory has this lil guy The EMP
An Internet reference site, with all you ever wanted to know about the M-1911 pistol, designed by the most ingenious gunsmith of all times, John Moses Browning.

And then there is S&W's 1911

Right now I favoring the Colt because it can be had in the mid $700 range.
