Maybe you should make a Poll for this question.

I say Kimber or Springfield or Colt in that order. Or get one of each as I did.

I think they all use MIM parts. Number 1, 2, and 4 should be good. I like SA the most. You should take a look at Dan Wesson too. I heard they don't use MIM parts in their 1911s.

1- Springfield Armory Stainless full load
      2- S&W 1911 Stainless << warning on the frame
3- Sig Revolution Stainless << big gamble with very few winners
      4- Kimber II stainless

Some folks don't like the warnings that some companies put on the firearms, i.e. gun can be fired with magazine removed. By the way, big vote for #2, amazing accuracy with fit and finish better than most.

I think I would go with either the S&W or the Springfield if going off your list. I would seriously take a look at the Dan Wesson Pointman 7 in SS though. I've been itching for one and like what I've been reading about them.

              Colt
              Dan Wesson
              S&W

In that order for me. I'm not a fan of Springfield and S&W has an external extractor, which isn't normal for 1911's, but it seems to work fine in theirs. The Sig 1911 isn't as nice as the others, especially for the price (I own one).

I've had my Springfield SS for a while and I've never had a failure to feed. Closest thing to a malfunction I've ever had with it was a failure to fire which as because I was firing crappy blazer brass and the primers were seated to far in the casing. Springfields are well known for their ability to eat up any ammo you put in them and if they don't send it in and they will make it.

Your number one choice is a good choice. Series 70, just like JMB designed it. Good platform to upgrade if you choose to do so later. If let alone, it's a good gun as it is.

I had a very difficult time trying to read through your post with all the misspellings, punctuation errors and incorrect grammar.

I got the part where you're trying to compare the 4 guns, I have owned the Sig and Springfield and I have to say with the Sig you get the most gun.

Exactly what I was thinking. Only thing radically different is the 38 super/9mm firing pin, but hey it's titanium! Also SA has an excellent warranty and their reputation in the customer service department is top notch.

However from what I've read the same can be said about Smith & Wesson's warranty and customer service (but thats just what I've read at the Smith forum).
