    Glock23 first range trip

Took my G23 to the range today for the first time and shot the following:
    Fiocchi 170g FMJ (50rounds)
    Federal 180g FMJ (50rounds)
    Armscor 180g FMJ (50rounds)
    Winchester 180g FMJ (50rounds)
    Remington 180g JHP (50rounds)
Redline ReLoads 180g FMJ (150 rounds)

Not a single jam, FTF, FTE, shot all rounds without a problem. My only issues( besides being a lefty)were hand getting sweaty causes some grip slip and I was shooting high and to the right. I heard these guns will eat up any ammo so I'm trying to put everything through it that I can.

Get the rubberized grip decals and only put on the ones for the actual grip panel areas. Feels great; no need to permanently modify your frame by stippling or other means. Doesn't change the feel of the grip as far as thickness. At most, it adds like two millimeters in thickness. It's waterproof and stays in place forever. I was honestly surprised by its stickiness. But when you wish to peel it off at one point, it comes off clean. Crazy stuff.

    Congrats on the 23!

Taking out my step dad's old G23C sealed the deal in my decision to sell my M&P45. I gave into that I just shoot the Glocks the best. Its weird because I remember hating friend's G22 and therefore disliking .40 caliber. I wasn't mad about my G19 either for some reason.

But that G23C is just a sweet gun, I guess you really do have to just go shoot it before you really know how you'll like it.

Edit: I highly recommend some Talon gun grips. They have sandpaper type and rubberized. The sandpaper one is very comfortable and makes gun stick to hand. I wouldn't permenently stipple polymer frame. The decal ones are great and replaceable.

Good stuff. I too have a G23, with trijicon nightsights, and it has been one of the best pistols I have ever purchased. Eats every kind of ammo I feed it, never had a single jam, FTF or FTE or any other problem to speak of, granted I only have about 500 rounds through mine.

Two things I will recommend for the gun that I really like are a factory extended slide stop lever and a grip plug, about $20 worth of parts and can install both in a few minutes.

Get some grip tape and never worry about sweat again.

Where did you get the grip plug?

I got mine over at Glockmeister here in Mesa, AZ. They have a website and you can order from them, although several companies make them, but I like recommending these guys because of their top-notch customer service and friendliness.
