Question about the Adjustable Rear Site

I have a Karh pistol and the rear site is adjustable. However, it has no screw that holds it in place, It is just moved by using a non-marring tool to push it side to side. This is what concerns me. How easy it going to move from regular use/wear?

Thanks for your time and input!

Rather than having a fully adjustable rear sight (both windage and elevation), it sounds like you have a fixed rear sight that may be drifted for windage only. This sight sets in a dovetail and the best way to move it is with a sight pusher or like you indicated by tapping it slightly using a non-marring tool to push it side to side. Yours isn't a sight that should be regularly moved. Find an ammo that shoots well in your pistol, adjust the sight accordingly and then let it be.

It shoots accurate, but I was worried that the rear sight would move on its own - being TOO easy to push side to side, that is what I do not want.

As long as it is not easy to push, I am happy.

That sight should not move easily. The dovetail will be quite tight. Regular use and not dropping the pistol should insure the rear sight staying in place. If you start moving it in the dovetail you now could risk having the sight become loose and possibly move through normal use.

Well, I hope it never moves because I like it where it is. All my other guns have a screw to hold the rear site in place.

If the sight is too loose in the dovetail, then take a prick punch and upset the metal in the dovetail once or twice. This will then enable to sight to get a better purchase and hold tighter.

Alright, Ill keep that in mind. But, I have no reason not to trust Karh; to give them the benefit of the doubt that they have made the rear site secure enough. I just thought I would ask on Calguns.
