    Sig P220 Carry!!!

We shot out to 25 yards Friday morning, in the rain, and had a great time. Brought lots of ammo, targets, and raincoats, but forgot a camera.

I bought a Gray Guns tuned Sig P220 Carry from 45R a while ago and it is sweet. I watched the rounds land right on top of the front sight time after time. This is a sweet stubby little Sig .45.

    Any other Carrys out there?

I picked up one of the P220R Carry SAO about a year ago. Fun gun, and it's interesting using a Sig in single action.

I own a pair of P220R Carry SAOs, one all-black and the other Two-Tone. Both are outstanding shooters. I was waffling between SA/DA and SAO, and am glad that I sprung for SAO for both.

      Oh, and obligatory snapshots:

I had a 220 SAO, great trigger and great shooter. I stuck with the DA/SA and sold it despite being very sad to see it go.

Love my 220R SAO - I'm no great shakes with handguns but this one shoots where I point and feeds my handloads without a problem.

I just ordered a new one from a guy on SigForums. Waiting for it to ship into the state for the DROS to be done.
Tell me more about the Grey Guns tune.

yes i would like to know more about the grey guns tunning?

How much $ and what is the difference.

I just bought a minty used p220 st in the full size version.

My next Sig 45acp is going to be the blue carry version but i want to have the true glow sights set up on it, as is on the Equinox model.

I've emailed back n forth with 45R a few times, he's a good guy He and I shared similar woes with our Sig GSR's. Glad the 220Carry is working well, but would be silly to expect anything but excellence from a GrayGuns piece

My P220 Carry is a two tone SAO and I love it. It is my favorite .45 yet. I own three P220's including a P220ST and this by far is the sweetest shooter of all. The recoil is the softest of any .45 that I've shot. The reset on the SAO is amazing. There is pretty much no reset.

My only gripe with this gun at first was the notorious FTF of the last round. But after a bit of feedramp and chamber polishing, she's been flawless and running like a champ hundreds of rounds later. I really love this pistol. So what d of work did Gray do to your P220 Carry?

What's the take up like on the SAO triggers? Is it the typical SIG SA, or is it more like a 1911 short take up.

I honestly don't remember what he told me Grayguns did, and would have to say contact them to see what they can do. I have seen & handled other pistols tuned by Grayguns at local IDPA matches (Sac Valley - before Bruce moved away) and they are sweet.

The TDA trigger action on this 220 Carry is smooth and I like it. Recoil is not bad at all; it is actually pretty good.

I'm not a bullseye shooter and have old eyeballs. The width of the front sight will cover part of the target, and that is where the bullet hits. The group size is within the width of the front sight, more to the center of the sight. I can't do this with some pistols.

                      Really sweet stubby .45.

EDITED: I forgot to mention having bought *several* new ACT & Novak mags from usa_oz over on the Sig Forum. Service has been great and every mag has done well in this and my full size P220 - no problems at all.

Here is his website link http://www.grayguns.com/

From what I read on SigForums he is really good and really busy. Some waiting a couple months just to make contact to ship their firearm in to him.
I'd much rather wait for a good smith rather than get a hack job back fast.

Bruce is VERY highly regarded on the SIG forum, where he's a regular contributor. His work is class A. He does need to hire a secretary, though. He's so busy it's sometimes hard to get through.
