Bar Keeper's Friend also helps for removing rust (though not protecting against it).

Though rust removal with anything is really tricky if it gets into tight spots like cocking serrations or sight dovetails.

Shooter's Choice Rust Prevent. Using it for past 12 years. Sometimes I just spray on, place in safe without cleaning. Good stuff

I use bore stores when I can too. They make a rag that I've used for years to give all my guns a final wipe before I put them up.

Keep them clean, and that will help too.

Walmart Marine Grease to prevent it...

...and a Copper Penny to remove it. (make sure it's not one of those new "fake" pennies w/ the shield on'em)

Put a little light oil or Marine grease on the rust and let sit for a while.

Then, just scrub the rust w/ the edge of the Penny and wipe off the oxide as it comes loose. When all you get is copper in the pitting (if any), you're done.

Shouldn't hurt the bluing or Park either.
