    Cz 97b

Can someone school me on a cz97b. Is it a good gun? Reliability? Performance? Thinking about getting one as a xmas gift for myself

Great gun for the price. Exceptional reliability. One of the more accurate .45ACP's out there. The only gripe I have is the wide grips which is easily remedied by slim grips through CZ custom.

      Handle it yourself before buying!

Think upscaled CZ75. I have medium sized hands and the D/A pull is really long. There's many posts about the CZ97B size issue. Love it, but of course I have 3 CZs. As with my other guns, it'll be more accurate than I can be shooting off-hand.

        I owned a CZ-97B.
        It was accurate and reliable.
But, it has a thick grip. Which makes the Glock 21 and H&K USP-45 feel slim.

I'd say feel it for yourself.
I'd get it for a .45, but I love CZ's and have huge hands. I would indefinitely look into the slim grips though.
Accurate as hell, cz style very cool gun.

I have big hands but the 97 grip was too long (too far forward, as opposed to too wide) for me, so it was a no-go.

You have to get one in your hands to know for sure.

Agreed. Feel it for yourself. Or if you got the cash or the know how, you can possibly get it thinned out.

Common complaint is that they don't feed hollow points very well. Just keep that in mind.

CZ Custom sells a SA Hammer and Trigger set up that will cut down the reach, but you still better have big hands. Mine is very accurate and one of the best values out there in my opinion.

I got one a few months ago. It is a big gun. The slide release takes some getting used to due to it being so far away from the grip. I have medium sized hands and I have to shift my grip to hit the slide release. The grip size dose not bother me at all. In fact, the CZ97B feels more comfortable than my SP2022. Despite the size of the gun, it is an absolute dream to shoot. It is a tack driver at 30 feet, it has very little felt recoil, you can't beat the quality, and the price is right. I highly recommend it. Just make sure you handle one before buying it. As I said before, It is a big gun.

I've got one, love it. Very accurate gun, like all CZ's, they're underated as people don't know about them. However that is changing, and you'll find some models are hard to get as the demand is out pacing supply. If you're going to do a 97B, do it soon, the updates change the part number and without a magzine disconnect, the new one can't be rostered.

Never hurts to ask. They are great guns. The only thing I had to get used to was the slide release, and that was easy. My left thumb is right there anyway, so I use my left thumb. It only took three mags for it to be natural.

The wide grip is a plus to me, feels better in my large hands but the DA pull is too long. To me, the wider grip mitigates the felt recoil compared to, say, a 1911.

I love cz to death, but I wouldn't get one in 45

I would go usp full size, 1911, hk 45c or something of that nature.

Not saying the 97 is not a great gun, just other 45s I think are a better choice.
