    Which Ten Round 1911 Mag

    So I got a Sig 1911

Looking to get a 10 round mag for it. I already tried the Chip McCormick and the last round would not load. Just tlike with NutinFancy
I tried the Wilsons and the first ten rounds worked fine but the second load was if-fy. Might be because I had not cleaned the gun since I bought it and I had already put over a 100 rnds though it.
I was looking in Iron Sights when I saw the Sig 10 rounder and wanted to know it anyone had any use out of those mags. Thanks for the info.

I believe 1911 10rd mags are inherently weak. A lot of people think even eight rounders are pushing it even though some versions are better than others. I didn't know SIG had 10rd 1911 mags, but I know their 8-rounders are made by CheckMate which is a company that makes fantastic mags.

They also make 10 rounders so you might wanna give them a try. My current favorite 1911 mags are 7rd CheckMate's with their CMF and hybrid lips.

Thanks! I know my eight rounder works great for me but I saw the Sig 10 rounders while looking around. Can't even find the dang things on the internet. Also I have heard about issues with the 10 rounders.

Ah, forgot about Tripp. Never tried them but their Cobra Mags have a really strong reputation.

Anyway, are you 100% sure the mags you saw were Sig branded? I can't find them on the web too. Did they look like one of these?

These are ones made by Checkmate which also makes Sig's 8 rounders.

No they look different and I'll grab some pics of them next week or earlier. I was suprised by them, too. As for the Trips, I will look into them.

Which Chip McC 10 did you use?

I have 8 of the power plus and two of the standard 10's

Never had a problem with them, but I think the power plus versions might be a bit better

I use chip mccormicks 10 rounders in my sig 1911 and they work fine. I do find that I need to keep my sig cleaner than my kimber. The fit on the sig is very tight and when it gets dirty things start to slow down a tad.

Yeeeeeah I found this out last night. Me and one of the Iron Sight guys where talking and he said how people try to run 1911s like Glocks. Said "they needed to be cleaned after shooting because of the tight tolerances". He also added that if I wanted something close to that to get a Springfield TRP or the tatical version of the 1911 for their looser tolerances. Some food for though for the future. I cleand it last night and depending on the election I will shoot again on Thursday.

My Springfield and Wilson 10 rounder seem to get along, but I've only shot about 100 rounds through it.

Ive had my wilson 10 rounders for about 7 years shooting it through various 1911 mainly a S&W and a Colt its ran flawlessly, now my buddy had a RIA with all sorts of problems and he got some wilsons 10 rounders worked better but still had hiccups here and there.

I use Chips PowerPlus in my Sig 1911 and they have been 100% flawless.

The Chip Powermags I bought in 2009 have worked solidly for me. Perhaps Wilson Combat ones are better though.
