    Muzzle loading legal shipping ?

    I'm anticipating getting a Ruger 44 muzzle loader revolver,being a replica,
not sure of the legality of shipping direct to a residence rather than through an FFL.
Any one direct me to the ATF requirements ?

They are classified the same as antiques. If it was made before 1899, or a replica that does not use modern ammunition, most GCA '68 restrictions do not apply. You can mail directly without an FFL, by federal law.
Some states are more restrictive, but I believe California still defer to the feds.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Thanks and just notice I didn't mention where I live. Your correct California
and as I'm sure you know this state has some restrictive laws and some soso.
      I'll keep digging.
