I can't imagine the CA markup on these. People out here are asking $500 and up, after they snag them for $399.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Have you seen how much people are asking for a Kel-Tec KSG???

I paid $550 OTD for my Shield and it was worth it!

I got mine for $439 ($500 OTD), and it was only on display for a few hours. A friend of mine (LE) went to one of the local gun shops that he has bought several guns from, and asked about getting a Shield. The owner told him he's been getting 2-3 a week in his shipments, so he asked him if he could buy one. The owner told him NO, and said he was making a ton of money selling them on Gunbroker. Gotta love CA gun shops, what a D-Bag.
