I am looking at buying a Ruger Speed Six SS .357. I cannot find much info on this gun. Does anybody know anything about it or what its value is?

I own a stainless Speed Six (S6) in .38 Special. Mine is a 2 3/4" barrel.
My S6 is same frame as .357 mag, just a different cylinder. I am told that some Police depts spec'd them in .38 special for their own reasons.
Only change I made is Hogue Grip with finger grooves.
This is a great gun and is similar to Security Six. Fixed sights and round grip frame is big difference.
I am told mine would be worth about $425 right now. I would NEVER sell it.

Rock solid firearms that you can bet your life on.
Bullet proof, durable, stronger than the K frame Smiths.
Ruger's revolver for police use to compete against the dominating Smiths.
It sold for less than the Smiths at the time of introduction.
Bill Ruger said he lost money on every one he made.
Speed Six = round butt, fixed sights
Service Six = square butt, fixed sights
Security Six = square butt, adjustable sights.
Replaced with the GP100 model because the Six was too expensive to make.
You won't read much on the internet about "how my Six broke", because they don't.
A trigger job (optional), grips that fit your hand, and ammo are all you will need for it.
I have seen asking prices of $350-450 depending on model, condition, box and manual included, etc.
Sometimes you find one for less, if you are that lucky, buy it.
