Noticed my front sight was slightly loose yesterday. It was professionally installed, but when I screwed off the hex and took off the blade, there appeared to be no threadlock. Anyways, I degreased it & put some blue loctite on it before screwing it back on. My question is, will it happen again? Should I use a different color threadlock?

Blue will work fine. Some people will use red. -

I used blue on mine, and I've had my gun far too hot to touch many times. I think you'd end up melting the gun or damaging components before the blue broke down from heat.OCSD Approved CCW Instructor

According to my Google search, you'd have to heat it to over 400 degrees before the blue melted. I dont EVER see that happening. $25 is a normal charge for sights.Comment

I did my own with a brass punch set, and I made a front sight tool by grinding down the wall of a thin wall socket.OCSD Approved CCW Instructor

Don't use thread locking compounds on sights, use Permatex # 2 instead. I have installed hundreds, thats right, hundreds of Glock sights, and not one has come loose, ever. Including my own G21 at over 100,000 rounds.Comment
