No more 92fs?

Sorry if I'm way late on this......but is it true that there are no more Beretta 92fs models being produced? I was at ASC in Kearny Mesa and the dude behind the counter said that they no longer make them.....The last one they had was really blingy chrome with some wood grips....

I went in there looking for a Sig or an HK in 9mm and decided to try out a 92fs- but there were no more to be had according to those guys......

So I guess I'll just stick to the Sig .......... or the HK ..........or the SIG? HK?

Really? If that's true then that's a shame. I've been keeping my eye out for a 92fs or m9a1. On the brighter side, most Beretta guys can be easily converted to Sig guys.

I realize our military use a version of it. I realize many LEO use it, here and around the world. I realize they are very well made, but I just don't see any benefits over many other makes that in my opinion surpass the 92fs's abilities.

I've never had any interest in one and have never bought one either. For the most part, I have little interest in any Beretta made handguns, except for maybe some older collectible models, any of the model 70 series guns, and maybe, just MAYBE... the new PX4 Storm guns (especially the .45 and Subcompact versions).

Currently, some models like the Vertec, Elite IA, and Elite II are discontinued. There is no definite plan to return these to production, but Beretta could produce a small run of them at any time.

The 92FS is not discontinued, nor do they intend to discontinue them in the near future. The M9 will continue to be produced as well, and the M9A1 is not fully replacing the M9.

The 96 is discontinued, other than special orders (subject to a minimum order for an agency). The direct replacement is the 90Two .40S&W. The 90Two was expressly designed for the higher pressure round.

Even though the Compact and Centurion have been discontinued, and Beretta USA maintains that they do not have the capacity to make the short slide any more, the Compact L has been recently produced in Italy. Apparently Italy still has the equipment to make the Compact L (and quite possibly the Type M), as we've seen some of these imported recently.

The Beretta Cougar has sadly been discontinued. The good news is that the replacement in the Beretta line, the PX4, is in full production and is a great replacement for Beretta. More good news is that Stoeger is now producing this pistol. See the Cougar FAQ for more info.

I had no problem buying a brand new 92FS last week but that was from a FFL who fortunately had his own supply of Beretta manufactured 10 round mags in stock.

I spoke with Beretta USA and they have plenty of 92FS and are making them.
The problem in California is that they have no 10 round mags and that gives the impression that the 92FS is not available.
So much so, that Turners were misleading folks by saying they were no longer in production.
Beretta USA website was quoting that the 10 round mags would be in stock first week of March - that date has now gone out to April. For some odd reason they are having a big problem getting them over from Italy.

Correct! I was lucky enough to pick up a new old stock 92 G Elite II and my FFL (Thanks Vlad & Dimitry at City Arms!) they were able to get the wholesaler to swap out the magazines for 10 rounders. Most dealers won't go that extra step and so just don't sell to California.

It's funny how this topic is being brought up, especially now. I just recently went to turners in norwalk and was told the same thing that the 92fs or the 92 series was discontinued and was no longer being produced. I thought to myself bull****, and checked on-line and there appeared to be no indication of it being discontinued. So I visited the stockade and bought one there, and was told the exact opposite of what the guys at turners had told me. They had the stainless as well as the m9 at the time.

Get a PX4, those use the same rotating barrel system as the 9000 series.

already got a 226 i guess the grass just looks greener with that crazy twisty barrel action
