    rock island gi sights

Im looking at uograding my gi sights to these novak carry rear sights that say there standard cut, but the description says they should fit standard cut with minor smithing but the technical info says that it would need novak style sights, can anyone help me out, or point me in the direction of some similar sights with a standard cut, also what front sight would i get the wide or thin tenon?

If your RIA 1911 has the same GI sights as mine, you'll need to mill-in a Novak cut on the slide.

These will work with a little gun smithing. There's not a whole lot of options for the RIA GI Model. I used these on my RIA.

Does it shoot low, or are you flinching?

Why is it the vast majority of fixed sight guns shoot low?

            Flinching??????????????????

I wouldn't chase sighting problems until you can group well at 15 yards or more (I'd say a group the size of the palm of your hand).
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

some white paint on the front sight will take care of your problem

i can get a group around that size about 5 inches below where the sights are and around 20 feet, i wasnt going to change anything untill i put 500 rounds threw so now i have and would like to upgrade, i would like to be able to line the dots.

Shooting low, are you using a Center hold or a 6 O'Clock hold?

The RIA gi has a narrow tenon front sight slot.

Brownells has a sets of MGW sights that work great. I put them on my RIA. You can see them on the RIA picture thread.

And you benched the gun to confirm it shoots low?

i have not benched it to confirm its low ill have to do that next time i go out, but the main reason i changing the sights is to get a better sight picture not to adjust the aim
