    900 rds later stove pipe!

just got back from the range with the wife, shooting my cz sp-01 and newly acquired new model blackhawk 357. everything went very well well besides the one stove pipe! thinking it was the ammo only happened 1 time out of 100 rnds of WWB 115gr fmj.
i know the gun is lubed good you can still see it on the side of the gun

also on a side note, i alway have black soot on all my empty casing, is it just the cheap ammo im using? slow burning powder?

I bet you are regretting your username

Just kidding. Hope you figure it out. I'd say it's probably nothing to worry about but I have guns with thousands of rounds through them without a single malfunction. Maybe take a look at your hold, ammo, dirt, extractor, etc...

Yeah gonna have to hit the range again and put more ammo through it and see if it was just a weak load, gonna try higher grain ammo and see if that helps the soot problem

Probably just a bad round... Light powder load, weak primer, crimped too tight, too tight in the chamber, or some combination of the above...

Could also be the phase of the moon.

Don't sweat it. Just shoot it.

Probably ammo, maybe dirty extractor. All semi autos jam, no need to worry.

If you're running the factory recoil spring, WWB is on the extreme light-loaded end of ammo that will reliably cycle the thing. It should still function fine all of the time, but this load may have been a little lighter than most. My bet is that the slide didn't go all of the way back and it started coming forwards and chambering the next round before the old one had a chance to get out of the way.

Or maybe I should be the first to say: STOP LIMP WRISTING IT (actually, in all seriousness, if the wife was shooting at the time it may be part of it. Light loaded, light weight (115 grn) plinking ammo combined with a not-the-stiffest wrist and a very stiff recoil spring and it would definitely be a testament to the gun's awesomeness that it didn't happen regularly)

Wwb is some light stuff for how heavy the stock springs in your gun are.. you can always get some lighter springs to shoot the white box stuff. In the long run it may be cheaper then to buy higher quality rounds.. especially for the range.

I'm getting some lighter springs for my p01 here soon for the same reasons.. are guns were ment for NATO specifications for combat, not a weekend at the range.

Love your grips by the way... I want the gold ones

it was me shooting, wife was under the weather so i was doing all the shooting, the blackhawk was a dream to shoot i need to adjust the sights it shoots high, but the trigger was light and broke clean and crisp i didnt know how to act, i really want to take a shooting training course to help me find out my bad habits which im sure i have and help me get me shooting to the best of my ability, who knows i might have a tendency to limp wrist it but i dunno

I've only ran 100 rounds of wwb through my cz in the past. Stuff is way to light loaded to base reliability on.

So why did it run 99 times out of 100? It's not the ammo, or the gun....

its the second box of WWB ive put through it, first time was when i first got it, ive put 100 rds of tulammo too, but i mostly been using fed bulk pack im gonna invest in some bulk ammo thats good quailty, wwb is pretty dirty stuff IMO

I have had good luck will Sellier and Bellot in mine, actually both my CZ and my XDm were tested with it as well. I can usually find 1000rds for right around $200 delivered.

I would still probably go to a lighter recoil spring, I believe I am running a 15lb in mine, cant remember what the stock CZ springs are but I think it was like 18lb or something around there. You can also go to a 15lb hammer spring while you are at it to reduce the trigger pull weight a little bit. Both springs are very easy to change, 10 min at most.

I don't plan on shooting NATO rounds or anything to hot not a fan of +p+ to much hype not enough gain, it's my HD gun and will changing spring dampin reliability

If you want cleaner ammo, you're going to need to find TMJ or HP.
