My First CZ *Updated with Range Report*

After all the good things I've been reading and hearing about CZ's, I decided to finally pick one up. Thanks to and all the guys at City Arms East . I had the opportunity to fire one a few weeks back, the dude in the lane next to me at United Sportsmans had the compact model in 9mm. No other handgun besides the 1911 fits my hand like the 75 models. I was also amazed on how naturally the gun points. I think this is due to the fact that the slide is so narrow and thin up top. Fit and finish is great and its built like a tank. It came with three dot night sights which is a plus. For a regular production gun the trigger is crisp on SA, however DA is kinda rough. It should loosen up a bit after break in. This is a really heavy gun....probably just as a heavy as a full size 1911. I haven't got a chance to fire it yet but so far for a 600-700 dollar gun, I think its alot of value for your money. I think I'm starting to understand what all the fuss is all about. Anyway next time you guys hit up the LGS and see a CZ be sure to check it out. I always dismissed it and thought it was some Eastern Block cold war junk. Not anymore! I'm worried now that after I get used to this CZ my other SA/DA Beretta is going to be sitting around collecting dust. Oh yea one more thing guys...the mags for this thing are freaking expensive.......47 dollars average. Well whatever you gotta pay to play

    *Update*
I recently got a chance to take it out to Targemasters in Milpitas for a great afternoon session. This is a pic of me and my fiends target. Please keep in mind that I'm not that great of a shot and this was my friends first time shooting a pistol. The target was furthest back...I think its 15-20 yards, I'm not too sure. I'm in love with this pistol and it is by far the most accurate and comfortable production 9mm I have ever shot. I sold my Beretta recently too cause I knew that after shooting this puppy, I would never look back.

Congrats!! I've been debating between the SP-01 and the Tactical version. I prefer a decocker, but finding a tactical has been a pain. I might have to settle for the standard version.

Yep, nothing will ever be the same now... Rather than sitting around collecting dust, my Beretta actually got traded for an AR, and the poor little Sig now lives in the safe instead of the nightstand.

Congrats, you got a good one.

Congratulations, my son. Going forward, all guns will now be compared to your CZ, and most (if not all) will fall short.

Welcome to the real 'darkside' now no other gun will feel as good to shoot. Or be as easy to shoot accurately.

I had a hard time finding one too for like 2-3 months. I gave up until 2 weeks ago....I just stopped by my LGS to waste some time and there it was. U guys probably think Im nuts cause they also had the Springfield TRP Full Rail. I almost caved in but decided that 1800 was gonna kill me when my CC bill at the end of the month.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'd snatch that up and sells me p01 to justify it.

But don't know how reliable the promags are.

Well one option is to buy the high caps and block them to 10.

Beretta makes a nice pistol for sure. That open slide makes for great reliability, but I find them to be pretty far apart in terms of ergonomics. The Beretta is a big gun and you feel every bit of that size, the CZs are just as big, but are just natural pointers. The DA trigger takes a bit of getting used to but the SA is as good as anything out there.
