    Nighthawk GRP Recon questions....

Ok so I have an opportunity to buy a Nighthawk GRP Recon with the Surefire X300 light. Prices have gone up but I'll still be paying the old price. Now my question to other Nighthawk owners is the gun really worth the money? Any negatives with the gun at all? This is a big purchase for me so any feedbacks would help. Thanks in advance. . Plus my wait will only be 5 months since it's already ordered and my FFL is giving me first dibs.

Read this thread. Many people with nighthawks are saying that they aren't the company they use to be. I was about to purchase a nighthawk some months ago but didn't due to this.

Initially, I debated about posting but I think it is important to share my experience....take it for what it is worth. For a little background on me...I grew up shooting rifles with my father and have spent 18 years in the military so I am very familiar with weapons. That being said I would...

Only one I saw was for $2699. Not much more then getting it down the street after shipping so I don't mind paying a little more and support local shops.

It is worth the money for a great 1911 I have had mine for a year and have had no problems with it and it shoots great and all types of ammo including SWC's the only thing I would change on it is the rear sight. the notch is very tight to the front sight and shooting target's is a little harder than I would like. But that is just my taste I like a little gap between the front and rear. The quality is first rate and it shoots like a dream.

Read the thread. Thanks for the link. Seems issues were with custom work. But once he actually received a gun he was happy(eventhough not what he originally ordered). Looks like most people that actually has one is happy with it. Just a long wait. For me the fun has been ordered and is suppose to arrive in February. So if it's a few months afterwards I don't mind. Better than 24months.

Buy it. Nothing like having a high end 1911. Sure everyone has problems. But they sell 10's of thousands of guns I would think. So you read reviews 1% + / 99% -, If everyone of the happy people would post, you have a hard time finding one thats bad.

I really like my GRP Recon. You will be happy, if not, you know they will stand behind there product. Rather pay more for the LGS, I know any problems I had the gun to them and they send it off to get fixed. No money out of my pocket. You can always find things cheaper if thats what you into.

I shoot a GRP at the range and it was once heck of a shooter. I shot so well people where looking at me like I was awsome. Now Im not a bad pistol shooter but that gun made me look better. If you got the loot then shoot. Hey, Y.O.L.O!

I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

Is the gun worth the money?

                  Yes, for the following reasons:
                  look/handle/accuracy/fit/finish

I own the GRP RECON for over 2 years and every time I pull it out of the safe I tap dance in my head.
                  Lots of goodiess

I love my GRP. Have had it 4+ years. Among other very high ends 1911's. Put close to 8000 rounds through it. Love it. Never a problem that the gun's fault.

                    Get it.

Thanks for all of your feedbacks. I went ahead and told my FFL that I'll take it. Now the wait. Hopefully it does arrive in February according to the Nighthawk rep.
