I'm going to be adding more goodies to my cz97b SA and can't decide on which competition hammer to get. Has anyone tried either and can you tell me about your experience?

In the same boat I wanna know who does better work if you send it in toosigpic -
My shadow came with the competition hammer, so I cant tell you what the differences are. My friend took his 97 and had the hammer changed then SA trigger only. It was a great shooting pistol.Browning Buckmark, Beretta M9, XD 45, Ruger 10/22, M1 Carbine, AR 15, 1100, Benelli M2....Comment

I'm thinking either will be fine. I bought the cgw because they were in stock. Somewhere on the cz firearms forum, this was addressed, David at cgw designed his hammer with angles that matched the sear, I'm not sure if the comp hammer from cz custom is the same way. If you watch your hammer as you pull the trigger, you will notice that it cams back, with the cgw hammer and I'm guessing the comp hammer won't do this. Oh, also cgw is releasing a new sear next month that will match his hammers. My vote is for the cgw parts, takes about 2 maybe 3 days to get them.Comment

The product itself is probably similar. I've done a lot of business with both companies. CZ Custom is the big guy and Cajun Gun Works is more like the local guy, but still has decades of experience. I think you get more personalized service from CGW and more attention to detail. Sort of custom vs. assembly line kind of a thing. Not that CZCustom is really to that degree or anything, but CGW is small enough to give your gun the attention that you would give it yourself.
My SP-01 used to have a CGW-modified Shadow hammer on it, and that was great. Now it has been switched to SAO and rocks a CGW Race Hammer. Trigger is GREAT. David tuned up the SA trigger and it's just awesome.Comment

I installed the CZ comp hammer in my friends SP-01 and recently installed the CGW race hammer in my Phantom (decocker model).
Both are really great but I think the CGW hammer is slightly better. The SA trigger on my Phantom breaks like glass. There is no indication in the feel of the trigger it just breaks. I'm going to have to get used to it.Comment

Isn't he still shipping them with the adjustable sear? Thats the best way to go IMO since you can dial it in a bit more.Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings : Custom Paracord slings

The P9 used to be the hot ticket for IPSC. 1.5 pound single-action only triggers used to be the norm. It shouldn't be too hard to find a gunsmith to set you up.Comment
