    What finish to choose?

I have an LAR Grizzly that needs to be refinished. It has the parkerized finish from the factory and looks bad. I'm trying to research what's available and where to go, but it's so confusing. I'm in So Cal and any help would be appreciated.

I recommend Cerakote, I have a Colt Commander finished with Cerakote and it's holding up very well. Here's a photo of the Commander in Sniper Gray.
More photos and specs on the Commander http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=326403

Here's 3 more 1911's done in Cerakote (these 3 aren't mine, I just took the photo).
    Kimber- Desert Digital-Patriot Brown,Coyote Tan,Sand
    Springfield-Flat Dark Earth,Graphite Black
Sig- Coyote Tan, Custom mixed Tan,Graphite Black

The Cerakote was applied by Dave's Metal Works in Covina, 626-859-0299.Great gunsmith and a great guy to do business with.
Dave also offers Hard Chrome and bluing.
Here's a link to his Cerakote page.

Robar np3 is the best stuff in the business (sea worthy). cerakote has a lot of color options tho.

They both have different thicknesses. Your frame and slide get cerakoted, then the np3 for your internals.
