Glock 22 opinions

Preamble: I've been searching the forum for this thread but since I'm using tapatalk I can't use the advanced search to find exactly what I'm looking for. I apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed "ad nauseam".



I'm going to be picking up my first handgun soon. I've settled on the .40s&w instead of .45acp just based on costs and I'm sure I'll get one later. I'm considering the Glock 22 since it's been recommended and it's economical.

Can I get your opinions on the G22, good or bad? Thanks in advanced!

I love it, I actually prefer 9mm for the cheap ammo but I have a good source of .40 so I've stuck with the 22. I just bought a LE buyback 22 for $340, then dropped a new recoil spring in it as the old one was pretty shot. Outside of that, don't know what else to tell you. Go borrow/rent one and see what you think.

I started with a G22 and put probably 5000 rnds through it.
You won't be disappointed.
I later added a G27 & G23.

Glock 22's are great guns. They are not that fun to shoot all day long (say if you went to the desert, etc). If you wanted something you could blast all day long, i'd say go with the Glock 17. Either way, you can't go wrong!

I got into Glocks kind of late for I have to admit I prefer 1911s due to my early years of USPSA shooting. I got to shoot a variety of Glocks in all sizes and calibers helping me decide if I do carry it will be a G23 and G27 due to the lighter in weight factor. So I got those and then decided on a G35 skipping the G22 for range and USPSA shooting.

Narrowing the discussion to just the hardware, unless you are looking to fill a unique niche or equipment requirement, Glock is Very GOOD. The same can be said for several other major brand/models in the same market space (i.e. Beretta, Sig Sauer, HK,...)

Now the question is, "is it the right pistol for you?" That's personal. Only you can tell if the pistol feels good in YOUR hands. Have you spend some quality time shooting one? Does it feel right? Are the sights visible without much effort?

I never liked the way they felt in the store. My buddy got one and I shot it. Shot great. I had to have one.

I have one and I love it. the G22 is what got me started on Glocks and now I have 8.
Buy one and they tend to breed.

I have a Gen 4 22 and am in love with it. .40 is a great choice and a Glock 22 is the iceing on the cake. I also have the 27 and you cant go wrong with that one either. Overall I have nothing to say negative about it. Only thing is, it is a Glock so shoot it A LOT and break in the trigger.

Love my Glock 22 and I really like throwing in the 9mm and 357 SIG barrels to change things up.
