    Glock slide cover plate

    Hi,

Quick question, i have 2 Glock 17 Gen4s and i notice that the rear slide cover plates are of different dimensions, one is smaller than the other. Is it possible?

One plate covers the rear of the slide completely and on the other one i see some gap on one side.

    thanks

There is not a different part for Gen 3 & 4 slide cover plates. As long as they both fit and function properly, it may just be a batch issue.

4 of my 9 all look the same to me. There is only one part number for the plate.

Uploaded picture of FDE and black glock, do you think the cut in the slide is same on both? I thought the FDE slide cover and cut looked little differnt from the black one.

          thanks

Have you actually checked the backing plates with a caliper to make sure you're not seeing something? My guess is that they're probably actually identical, but the black just hides the gap better where the FDE makes it stand out a bit more.

FDE is still in Jail, i just took the picture @ the FFL. I think you are correct, I dont care if the plastic cover is messed up, can always replace it. I was little concerned if the cut in the slide was messed up.

              Hope i am wrong:-)

              thanks

Those are the same plates exactly. Same gap on both. The fde does make it look more obvious though.

The only variance I see is that the picture of the FDE frame is closer to the camera

Looks exactly the same to me.

Besides, if you're looking at the slide end cap while you're shooting, you're doing something wrong.
