Can I cancel a DROS?

I bought a gun online, and it came to my dealer. I had to wait on my 30 days and DROS'ed it a few days ago. But waited too long it thinned out my interest and now I want to sell it to fund other things.

I think I found a buyer for that who wants to do PPT soon. Do I have to wait until my 10 days over to DROS it? Or can I cancel my current DROS on the gun to PPT it?

Are you the buyer or seller...? New or used sale?

But if you already sold the gun to someone too late... And I hope your not doin this for a higher bidder because that is pretty di** and should deserve a ban because I wouldn't want to buy from a seller who is openly ok with taking something back mid transaction...

Ok your post is still not 100% clear.. You bought the gun and want to sell it to someone else..?

Or you found the same gun else where and want to PPT than buy new from ordered dealer..?

No, I believe you can't cancel the sale to you and sell to someone else. Wait out your 10 days and PPT it then. Until it's delivered to you by the FFL, you can't do things to dispose of it. (What exactly the ownership status is, between agreement to purchase and actual delivery, would seem to be something out of commercial law, and I don't know.)

Cancel the sale could conceivably go back to a selling dealer, but in this case it would have to go back to the selling person/store out of state, and you couldn't do anything with it.

New buyer must do his/her own DROS and waiting period - no way to 'assume' yours.

Ok much better... No because the gun isn't tied until after the PPT is over and you clear the BRC...

So wait it out.. Then PPT after.. You already signed so just suck it up and learn for next time. I you think that's bad some guys wait up to 3 years for some high end custom 1911/rifle builds... No clue how those guys do it.. I can't even want my 10 days.

But yes you can cancel your DROS.. But you would lose your $35 and like lib said the gun goes back to the seller.. So you would lose even more that way.. Just wait it out.

wait wait, i dont see why he cant have the dealer cancel the DROS (which can be done), and than just have the dealer DROS the handgun to the other guy? There is nothing that stops me from ordering a gun, having it shipped to my FFL, and than taking my buddy in and saying "I ordered it for him, DROS it to him." I would call the FFL, because if what im thinking works, than your buyer can start his 10 days sooner, AND you dont have to wait another month for your gun

I believe that because it's an interstate transfer, the CA FFL doesn't own the gun. If he did, then he could cancel the sale and return it to his inventory, and resell it.

Cancelling an interstate sale means the gun has to go back to the actual out of state seller.

Since you already started your DROS, wait the 10 days then do your PPT (DROS). Thats the easiest solution.
