    Buying a Glock19

Ive decided Im gonna pickup a Glock19, are there any upgrades I should make right off the bat of should I just keep it simple? Its mainly going to be a range/HD gun.

    Ammo.
    Magazines.
the sights suck, but everything else should be ok.

yeah, buy Glock 23 and make it a 9mm with LoneWolf barrel.

Of course that means buying extra CA-sucky 10rd mags.

Not sure what deal is on longer barrels with ports and stuff and 19/23 cross swapping but I think it is no go.

Also, the front sight is plastic crap that snags and gets chewed on some retention holsters like Raptor.

Maybe one of those plugs behind the mag. I keep forgetting to order one.

You going 3 or 4 gen?

Extended mag release and slide stop. Not necessary, but they're just creature comforts.

Titanium guide rod, I don't know if they do anything but I put one in all my Glocks just in case they do. Night sights are a must for HD. Try to creep around your abode and aim at stuff in the dark with out them. A box of 9 mm Hornady Zombie killers. Oh one more thing, a Glock 21 or a 1911 chambered in 45ACP in case you ever need to actually defend yourself. Bigger is better and if that don't work chrome it.

I recommend some range time with your G19, or any gun for that matter, before you start upgrading anything. Aside from maybe some ammo and if it doesn't already have any magazines, pick up one or two. You never know, it might not be what you thought it would

All you really need is some ammo and maybe a couple extra mags. If you aren't an expereienced shooter then maybe a formal training class.

The only actual upgrade you may want is some better sights but the factory ones will do until you get used to the pistol.

Otherwise go and put some rounds down range when you can.

IMO I would get new sights since I'm not a fan of the stock ones and then just mags and ammo. If you feel like you need a better grip a little skateboard tape works well.

I love the Glock 19. it's a very solid pistol straight out of the gate. Get a couple extra mags gets in and munition and if you want to upgrade anything get trijicon night sights.

What i did to my glocks was: 4.5 trigger connector, and night sights. I have an extended slide stop on my 21 but it's personal preference. Shoot the hell out of it before anything.

                              Night sights and ammo.

Enjoy your new G19. I would sell all my other guns before my 19.
