This is an older thread....but I too have the same guns as above and the ones in the pic seem like the stock sights to me.

Were you answering my question? I was asking about the slide. Everyone keeps talking about 2 different roll marks, I like the way the ones above look with the lines above and below armory. Just wondering if thats the old style or new.

Pros: You can shoot it for as long as you want and not have to worry about destroying the gun. Some people buy high end 1911s only to shoot them a few times and condemn these pistols to a life time of living as safe-queens.

Cons: Your pocket will wear out from the high cost of .45ACPs but if you can reload your own ammo, then the damage won't be as hard on your wallet.

Oops, I misread. That is the new RIA rollmark on their current 1911's. Most people prefer the older, more subdued style, it seems.

            I have a .38 Super and I love it. Has anyone SSE'd a .22 TCM?

Meh.. I like em this way. The old style reminds me of something someone might have tried to color in with black fingernail polish.

^^^ This. They tend to not bring much else to the table anyway.

Pro: The Tactical has good sights & trigger.

Con: Can't think of any. For $540 OTD my Tactical has exceeded all my expectations.

Maybe the rollmark on the newer models.
                  ^^^ Same response.

I have 4 Colts in different configurations. My RIA Tactical has been great and feeds everything from ball to 4 different brand defense loads I've tried. Very reliable.
No cons that I can speak of other than the funky factory grip panels.
                  Great 1911 for $500.

I spent $900 on a Kimber and its jammed up so bad I had to take the pistol apart to get the magazine out. The mag follower over rode the slide stop. $.50 mags on a $900 gun. Anyway, I sent it back to Kimber and they were clueless .... service reps were hopeless.

I hear RIA are dependable, with great service. I found Seecamp and S & W to be excellent, but Browning, Sig, and Kimber were so bad, I wouldn't buy another gun from them.

The factory grip panels are awesome for practicing your checkering though! I've had about 6 guys give me theirs after they swapped 'em out.

January 12th I go DROS my RIA 1911 tactical FS I paid for...

Then 10 more days... My first 1911 and I think I'll be real pleased. The fit was excellent at the store, the parkerized finish is rugged and evenly done all over. Trigger was amazingly crisp and almost no creep if at all.

Old thread but one more very happy RIA owner. Ive had mine for almost a year. Shoots 2 inch groups at 15 yards with Federal 230gr FMJRN Walmart ammo. Just started reloading and I am taking it out tomorrow with some 200gr LRN bullets I loaded the other day.
I have the GI model with the older subdued roll mark and I paid $417 OTD. Looking at a Tactical as a later purchase and my son wants one in nickel/chrome (dont laugh...hes 14!)

Did Kimber replace the slide stop? That's often the root of the problem, not the magazines themselves. Kimber has had their problems with slide stop lobe dimensions in the past.
