    DROS question?

So I had a question about my recent DROS on a handgun I just bought. I started the DROS on my hand gun on Sept 19 and the first day I could pick up the gun was Sept 29. When is the last day I can pick it up? 30 days from the start of the DROS or 30 days from the first day I could pick up the gun? Originally the person I DROS'ed the gun with said that it was October 28 (ie 30 days from first day I could pick it up) but I called the shop to make sure i wasnt gonna go over my time period. The guy I talked to said it was 30 days from the day I started the DROS (making it October 18?)

I DROS'ed it at a shop about 1.5 to 2 hrs away from my house and there has been some changes in my schedule that wouldnt allow me time off for the next 2 weeks. Just wondering when would the last day be?

    a) 30 days from start of DROS
    or
b)30 days from first day you can legally pick up the gun?

    Thanks!

Call and talk to the manager or owner. Every shop has different policies. Just explain the situation.

it is 30-days from when you initially signed the 4473, which you did when the DROS was started.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

So is it a shop policy or is it state policy? On the paper he literally wrote last day to pick up is October 28...making it 30 days from the first day I could legally pick it up..?

            State law...

Yes. If you do not take physical possession of the firearm within 30 days of submission of the DROS information, the dealer must cancel the sale. If you still want to take possession of the firearm, you must repeat the entire DROS process, including payment of DROS fees.

            (PC sections 12071, 12072)
I take "submission of the DROS" as the date/time stamp on the DROS paperwork.

You can always do another DROS for a fee.

More stupid laws /small rant over/.

It's 30 (24) hour periods from when you submitted DROS paperwork. After the 30th day you have to resubmit DROS and wait another 10 days. And so on and so forth
