Looking for suggestions

So I have my own rifle and have wanted a 9mm to go with it, went to the range with my grandpa, I brought my ar and he loved it, after we got done with the rifles we went out and shot his hand guns, I haven't shot a hand gun in prolly about 14 years since I was 12, he had a browning high power which is a 9mm, I absolutely loved it, at 15 yards I shot the bulls eye completely out in 7 rounds and it cycled amazing.

Then I came home and looked them up and was shocked to see a 1050 price tag, any sagestions for a 9mm with a similar feel in the 500 range

Other than a used original browning, you may want to check for older FEG's. I have no personal experience with them, but apparently they are not as good as the Brownings, but not bad either.

A CZ75 has a similar feel, at least to my hands.

Jeff cooper called the CZ and HP two of the best combat pistols ever made, if that makes a difference.

Either would be an excellent choice.

I agree with hanko. CZ75 feels really similar to a hi power but comes with a much lower price tag.

Had a Hipo, went to a CZ, havent looked back. The CZ 75 SA "feels" somewhat similar, but with some updated features, mainly the upswept beavertail and the improved safety. I still think it has *the* most comfortable safety out there.

The CZ75 SP01 and SA have a higher beaver tail than the 75B. I've got a 75B in 40, SP01 in 9mm, and a 97B, I also have a Kadet 2 conversion kit. The guns fit like a glove, I prefer the higher beavertail of the SP01 over the 75B. The _ONLY_ thing I didn't like and I've heard others complain about was the long trigger reach. To solve this I've converted my SP01 and 97B to the SA trigger and I've also dropped in cajun gunworks race hammers. Both pistols have the nicest triggers of all my guns, including the 1911, which also has a really nice trigger.

I've yet to have someone not like the CZ. IMHO they're the best bang for the buck pistol out there.
