I took off the scope from my 29-2 and want replacement rear sight. They are back ordered from s&w. I found one at Bowen Classic ARms, but I do not know which one to get. My pistol is from the 80s I believe, an N prefix, and look like the one here http://www.gunauction.com/search/dis...temnum=9557899 . Any suggestions? Thanks.

A 29-2 would have the "old style" rear sight. Therefore you'd need to send Bowen your old sight, which apparently you don't have, or call them and give them some measurements. For $129 plus the $45 drilling fee I think I'd pass and search on E-bay or Gunbroker for a S&W rear sight. If you can find an old Behlert rear sight they're quite similar to Bowen's in appearance."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark" -

Also, I should add that I would be happy with a working sight; however, due to the length of where the screw attaches,it may prove difficult. Thanks for the comments.
I know, you think I was buying a scope at that price. I have not had a rear sight on this bad boy for about a year, and I have been itching to shoot it. Hell I wanted to hunt with it by now. It may prove easier to just buy another rail and scope. For $129 plus the $45 drilling fee I think I'd pass
Thank you I will. You might want to try Bolsa Gumsmithing in Westminster, CAComment

Got to thinking about another parts source you might try: Jack First Gunshop in Rapid City, South Dakota. I used to buy parts from his shop in Lancaster, CA, before he moved to S.D. You might want to give them a call and see if they can help you out. Check their website: http://jackfirstgun.com/index.phpComment
