XDS or P245?

XDS or P245?

Just as I thought I was set with the XDS, somebody introduces me to the P245. I liked the fact that it is pretty much the smaller P220.

What are your opinions between these two?

I am biased so I would say the p245 in a heart beat. But I would be cautious when carrying one due to it's rarity and uniqueness, unless I had two.

The biggest appeal about the XDS is that it's lighter, smaller and thinner (at 1in thick) than the P245. Also, that pistol is still being produced, but to get one in CA, one will have to SSE.

P245's, IMHO, are great as they were made in Germany. They are discontinued, that's why they are very rare. For that reason, I would get the P245 first as it's the rarer one and still being a German made SIGs. I don't care what others say about today's SIG , but if you carefully and thoroughly compare side-by-side a German made SIG from before 2005 and a post-2005 SIG pistol, you can notice the difference in quality between them.

So, in a nutshell, get the P245 first. Then, save up and get the XDS later.
