    Springfield 1911 guide rod

Anyone know where i can get a plug in guide rod locally instead of using a hex tool to field strip my springfield 1911 loaded.

Or should i just call springfield directly. Thanks!

Order a SS GI guiderod & plug from brownells.com.Ran me about $30 with shipping.

I went to a GI type plug and guide rod from Brownells in my SA loaded.
      such as: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=2...IL-SPRING-PLUG

I asked the same thing of Springfield.

Here are the part numbers and cost.

Hard Chrome GI style plug PI2031 $15.00 each
GI Style Guide Rod PI0032 $10.25 each

            Hope this helps.

You may even check with lgs as they may carry them in stock?
