    Pre Ban Glock Magazines Help

My friend's dad has some Hi Cap Glock Magazines with follower #5 and #6 on them that have been rebuilt numerous times.
He believes the magazines were before or around 2000.

    Are these preban magazines?

Does anyone know the possesoipns dates of followers #5 and #6?

Can these magazines be passed on legally in California from father to son?

    Thanks in advance

The numbers on the followers mean nothing. The pre-ban mags could have been rebuilt with newer or older followers. All that matters is possession prior to the ban or acquired by other legal means post-ban. If anyone asks you about your STANDARD CAPACITY mags tell them, "I own them."...that's it.

Unless the son had his own STANDARD CAPACITY mags before the ban, they cannot be transfered from father to son.

Also, the read the Calguns wiki: http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/in...e_restrictions

      Thanks for the reply.

His Dad's memory is not so great, so he can't remember if it was before or after 2000. His dad has over 100 firearms.

Just trying to figure out the followers' maufactuering date to see if they were made pre-ban.

Again the follwers are #5 and #6.

Google search would be your friend here. Or also try Glocktalk.com

Are these .40S&W Glock 22 mags?

Once again the number on a particular follower cannot determine the age of a mag.

One more time just in case, the followers could have been replaced, and followers do not date a magazine.

No he can not pass them on to his son.
"Give" is stated in the law of prohibited things.

I think the number denotes if a follower is for a caliber all my 9mm magazines have a 5...

Technically it does not matter if they are preban or not.
If he illegally obtained them it sounds like it is way past the 3 year statute of limitations... Not that I am recommending this as a way to get magazines...

Possession and use of "large-capacity" magazines is legal.
Unlike other states CA really does not care if the magazine is preban. It's all about how you obtained it. (Being "preban" ie owning it in CA prior to Jan 1st 2000 is the obvious way) It is not like some states back east where you can currently acquire a pre-ban magazine and you are good to go.
