Magazine cap block?

I asked EBR works about this a while ago. They are the ones that were marketing the XDM mag blocks. Could always JB weld a piece of metal stripping to the front and back of the inside of the mags. There is a XDM mag instructional somewhere on here, should be the same process. Everyone will constantly chime in about "Permanence" then someone else will argue that there is no definition of what "Permanent" is. It is a never ending conversation.HM2(FMF) Earl

I actually am interested in this as well because I have the VTAC model and would love to be able to use the FDE floor plates that the standard mags came with. The only 10 rounders I can find are black.Comment

I did this with CZ magazines. I took a mag body to Home Depot to the section with the aluminum bars and found a piece that fit into the body, but not so thick as to interfere with the spring, then I measured it and test fit it then cut it, sanded down the sharp edges and then epoxied it into the inside back side of the magazine. The barely fit 10 rounds in. If I could do it again (I can't because that 5000 lb shear strength epoxy is never coming off) I would give a touch more space, like 10.5 rounds of space because I feel like I'm damaging the follower as I push the 10th round in. Too tight, live and learn.
Seriously, it's like $5 for the aluminum (or less if you use just a strip of metal like that guy did in the link), 5 minutes to measure (and you only have to measure one time and remember the length for all future blocks) 2 minutes to cut the bar, 1 minute to get rid of sharp edges then 30 seconds to epoxy it. Done.
I would have just bought 10 round CZ magazines, except they cost $45 a piece, compared to a rebuilt kit and the piece of aluminum.==================
