That's actually saying a lot when it comes to 1911s... any 1911. "flawless" on 1911s are not easy to come by as tight and as well fitted as these Sig 1911s are.

I have the P226, my sister has the P238 and my friend, the p938. Mine is a dream, no flaws, no FTE or FTF - just perfect. I have shot the P238 and the P938 - all seems substancial and accurate. I haven't even heard rumors that Sigs had gone down in quality until now.

With all guns they make - there might be 10,000 good ones.....15 with problems and those 15 will end up on the internet saying Sigs quality has decline. The problem is....those of us that are happy, feel the quality is excellent and they are great guns despite the price, we don't put that on the internet. 15 bad post that circulate the internet can make a lot of people wonder.

In my experience, the quality has not declined. I would buy again and probably will in the near future.

i own a couple of sigs, and the one thing that seperates them from other manufacturers is that they go "bang" every time, whereas other makes are more finicky with regards to ammo; therefore, as far as reliability i can honestly say that they are one of the best out there. the old saying that i kinda live by is that "you get what you pay for".

Sig has one employee for every 10,000,000 people on the planet. I would expect that ratio makes the demand on production to be quite heavy. While nothing is perfect they still manage to maintain a very low customer return rate.

Here's my P 226 9mm with Hogue Aluminum Grips. Super smooth and excellent in every way.

Finally got my SIG 516 upper, only took 7 months. Wasn't thrilled with the same backorder excuses but I got it and finally shot it this weekend. Its mounted on an LMT lower and it's a VERY nice rifle. Quiet too, compared to the DI gun my brother was running. No complaints, even if I get the money and decide to buy an LWRC I'd keep the SIG 516 for a second AR.
