I wouldn't do it. The 45 ACP is slow enough already.

Rather than screw with the gun buy an aftermarket compensator. Then you can use it or not use depending on how you feel that day.

        Maybe for serious competition.

For defense or range the .45 doesn't need it.

I have a 21C and a 21. There's not a bloody bit of difference between how the 2 shoot except for 1 thing: If you don't get that earplug in solidly perfect and touch off the 21C, you'll know about it for the rest of the week. Comps are only really useful with higher pressure rounds.

what ever the case 6 of you here say no so no it is. I wasnt to sure about it anyways other than MA2 reason range coolness with a big ball of fire, lol

I'm gonna go against the grain here. I've got a springfield 1911 with factory barrel porting and a rock island tactical with a bushing comp. The Springfield is noticeably on target faster than the rock island. I don't think the bushing comps work very well, but I notice a difference with properly done barrel porting. But is the small difference worth the money? Not if it's more than 10% of the guns value.

nope 2500 glock and 80 to port. the $80 is included in the $2500,lol
the gun is gonna be just that a gun not a weapon if it makes a difference in your anwsers. but I was already leaning towards no dont do it then this post kinda pushing me more that way.

.45 does not have a "sharp/snappy" recoil so porting is not really needed. If you want it to be cool then sure but performance is not going to be much different between the two. Now, compensating done the right way with a threaded barrel and comp and not the bushing type does help quit a bit with .45 recoil.
