    S&W Model 10 Doing 10 Days Hard Time...

    ...waiting for this sweet little guy to come out of gun-jail (10 day waiting period, CA-style). Met the seller two days ago, he is a commercial truck driver from the Riverside area that was doing a haul up to Mountain View/Northern CA; we met up for a transfer about 45 minutes from where I live. I believe this is a Smith & Wesson Model 10-8, .38 cal with fixed sights. Came with everything: original grips, box, cleaning tools, manual, etc. He said it was purchased by his wife in 1988, went without being shot until 2008, and then only on a few rare occasions at the range. His wife finally decided it was too big for her hand so he is buying her another gun. It is nearly new and more or less free of visible flaws... The first 4 photos are of the subject gun. The last photo is my other S&W Model 15, also .38 but with adjustable sights and aftermarket grips... which I shoot occasionally when I feel like playing with a double/single action revolver. This new one will probably be a safe queen, enjoy:

    ...and my current, occasional shooter when I feel like hanging up the Glocks for a few rounds, which is a S&W Model 15, having the adjustable sights. I bought it through a store a bit more "used" than the model 10 but it's still a tack driver like most S&W... The aftermarket grip feels better than the original from a shooting perspective for a hand my size (L), but lacks that "authenticity" I appreciate in the other gun:

    To be, or not to be: that is the question:
    Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
    The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
    Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
    And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;

      Nice, I think everyone should have at least one... a S&W 10 or 15 is a great first.
