Glock 27 3rd gen versus 4th gen

I know the 4th gen is off roster in CA, and I hear that the grip is better on the 4th gen. I have also read that the 3rd gen is more reliable. The 3rd gen I can buy new, but the 4th gen dealers don't stock here so I'd have to get it from ppt, probably from a LEO selling it I suppose.

Should I try to get a 4th gen or just go with the 3rd gen.

gen 4 has a customizable grip. But is that better? It depends on whether the old grip was a good fit for your hand or not. I had small hands so yes for me, but maybe not for you.

More reliable?...I think that might be true for the rest of the Glocks because the spring changed...which was major. But for the 27, the spring has been this way for year now, and there haven't been any problems with it being reliable.

I don't know if it's worth $100 more dollars to you for the grip....and

Most places seem to sell the 3rd gen for 559. Where can I get for less, brand new?

If you join GSSF for >= 2yrs you can buy one at wholesale ($425). Not to mention the other benefits which include matches, magazines, and swag.

The gen 4 grip is really abrasive. It actually can get uncomfortable to shoot after a while for me.

If you have the extra $$$, get the Gen4. I have both. But love my G27G3:

Stick with the 3rd gen, if it isn't broke why fix it
