    CZ 75B magazines

I'm looking to pick up a couple of extra magazines for my CZ 75B. Does anybody know where I can find one for cheap? The factory ones I'm seeing are pretty pricey (~$40) and was hoping to get something cheaper. I've heard great things about the Mec-Gar magazines but they seem to only sell the evil (i.e., >10 round) magazines.

Does anybody know how I might go about finding rebuilt magazines? Or rebuilding them myself?

Exile machine sells Mec Gar rebuild kits for 9mm, then you can block them yourself.

Mec Gar makes the factory mags. 44mg.com had some last i looked. Try calegalmags.com too.
I voted against Obama before it was cool.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

These guys always had the lowest price on the 10-round mags that I could find (even used mags tend to sell for the same): http://www.bigsupplyshop.com/CZ-USA-...02_p_7101.html

The factory 10-rounders suck, the long "basepads" can shift slightly and prevent a mag insertion. They also don;t drop free 100%.

Mecgar 16 rd, block if required.

The Mecgar thing isn't a bad idea at all, but I shot thousands of rounds through factory 10-round mags, including in some competitions, and never had a single problem with the basepad extension thing shifting or with them not dropping free. Or any other problems at all, for that matter. And I had 6 of them, all of which worked flawlessly. Besides rattling a little when 10 rounds is in them and they are not in the gun, I don't think they lack a thing in the quality department. They work great. Assuming a magazine would be more reliable than this after somebody is done with epoxying plates in or adding a dowel or whatever they are doing to block a normal capacity mag to 10 rounds is a big assumption, IMHO. *Maybe* a factory MecGar 16 or 17 round mag is "better" in some way than the CZ factory 10-rounder, but the likelihood of a home-modified blocked one going quickly downhill from there are pretty decent.

                  Our experiences differ.

They didn't work worth a crap at IPSC when you are slamming home reloads 30 times a saturday. I figured why not use the 10 rounders since I was shooting production division at the time, they just didn't work as well for me.

I don't have any blocked CZ mags, I just went back to using the standard mags but downloaded to 10 when required by rules.

LOL I guess I got lucky or you got unlucky! Been in the same shooting scenario as you describe many times with those mags and never had a single hiccup. Who knows. Some things just can't be explained

Actually. I think I know why.

I've used the standard ones and pro mags I got from exilemachine.com
Rapid fire and standard fire. No problems. Gonna do my first live action pistol match soon.

Cant say I had that issue shooting USPSA with mine, but I was only using 2 factory mags and 3 19 round mags.

Does anybody know how "permanent" rebuilds have to be? I'd hate to rebuild a OEM magazine with a block, and then be unable to use it if I moved out of the state.

It isn't defined. I think if it requires a tool to remove and cannot be done quickly, you're doing okay.

The normal consensus is epoxied or riveted.
