Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.
Hollywood ran out of original ideas about a decade ago, the demo they are going after is too young to have seen any of the originals and the budgets have escalated to a place where the shareholders who run the global conglomerates that make movies (there really are no more 'movie studios', there are only branches of global conglomerates) are so risk averse that they have killed and discarded any idea for original cinema. This is why we have things like Battleship and Candyland, movies based upon a board game.
When $40 million dollars is low budget and most new mainstream movies are knocking on $150-200 million dollars, why would anyone try anything risky or take a chance?
Hollywood is dead, feature films are almost dead. If you want to see true cinema, low budget digital films, most often seen on the Internet, are your only chance to see something of quality that takes chances. But the vast majority of it is so bad, really hard to find those little gold nuggets, but they are out there. As far as going to the theaters, all you will see from here on out is 98% going to be dreck like this, remakes, remakes, remakes.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Lmfao. Haven't heard that one in a long ***** time. What movies that from again?Originally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. I think it should be a misdemeanor with a 1000 dollar fine or 6 months of jail. It should be a felony if done near an open flame.

That's why your seeing big actors go to tv shows. Movies suck these days, tv can be better. Just gotta look for good stuff.Originally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. I agree, there seems to be more risk taking and interesting filmmaking on tv than in the theater...
Cases in point:
Breaking Bad
Weeds
Mad Men
Louie
Boss
Dexter
Modern Family
Downton Abbey
Girls
Game of Thrones
Feel free to add to my list. What have you seen in a theater in the past few years that hasn't sucked. My only two were Hugo and The Artist. Everything else has been okay at best for years.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Capybara, out of your list I have fully watched Breaking Bad (this cliffhanger they left us with is like HOLY COW DOUBLE WHAMMY this season) and Dexter.
I would have to agree...those are better than alot of the big screen duds these days. And cost a fraction of those to create.
Now if I could watch Breaking Bad on the big screen...every season. THAT is what I would pay to see!Sig SP2022 .40 S&W

Community can have its moments. I mean it is Chevy chase. Haha
Another good movie I've seen this year. Raid the redemption. It's a foreign Asian flick that's badass if you like hand to hand combat, lots of violence and gunfire and a great overall film.
Bit back to the original topic.....
Zfields- I %100 agree at least use the old blue aluminum metal as a base!!!!!
And the small visor. Make robocop look like robocop dammit.
