    Taurus tracker 44 issues

I have a tracker that I bought a couple years ago. It really seems to me that there is way to headspace. It will only fire Mabye 1 out of 4 shots with. Heap aluminum case. I found that rem brass is pretty reliable, but have had a few ftf's with it also.

At first I thought it might just be a little finicky. Then I started to notice brass with a thicker head shot better.

The ftf rounds show light pin strike.

Am I making sense? Is this common with trackers? Will Taurus fix it??

I don't get it for the 44 Rem magnum is a rimmed case so any variation in length is solved unless the cases are too long. I haven't handled a Taurus Tracker for quite a while and I'm almost 100% sure that it has a transfer bar as a safety feature. I'd look at that part for light strikes and the hammer spring.

I did a quick google and some Taurus revolvers have adjustable hammer tension. Might wanna check and see if yours have one and increase the tension if you are getting poor firing pin strikes.

Variations in thickness of the rim. And the distance between the breach face and the back of the cartridge seams greater than any other pistol that I own.

Headspace could be the issue, do you only notice light strikes with blazer? It could be the primer on that ammo is too hard... If you handloaded you could make perfect ammo every time, but for now you will just have to experimnet and find what works.

Try firing single action instead of double action, the hammer has less strenth on double action.

Most noticeable on cci. Less with win, and even less with rem. very rarely fired double action. The ones that don't fire, if I try to decide, will Mabye 30 % of the time.

It seems some Taurus revolvers have a problem with light firing pin strikes.
Well, I've had a taurus 357 mag Tracker in Titanium for about 3 and a half years now. The trigger was, well, a Tauri trigger, which left a little to be desired for. Anyway, I got a wollfe reduced spring set for it and that really addressed the way the trigger felt. Upon taking it to the range...
