Where 2 find a sig .45

Howdy all! I have narrowed my next purchase to a SIG .45 specifically a model that is compact because it will be to carry. Does anyone know of a good place to start my search? I am in the LA/OC area. I've been out of the game for a good many years and things have changed big time. To date myself, my last purchase was at B&E guns in Cypress now the only place I know of is Turner's (they don't seem to have the greatest prices).

Try going to a rival site called Sigforum.com. I would consider buying from a vendor like www.scpfirearms.com, www.ordnanceoutsellers.com, mactec-militaryarms.com and having them ship directly to an FFL who can dros the gun for you. If you search here you will find lots of FFL's who can help with the transfer for $50-$100. It may seem like a lot, but you will save hundreds off a Turners Sig.

I know someone was commenting about www.Budsgunshop.com the other day but they were suggested to me as a place to look for a P228. They were a very friendly company to work with. I was speaking to Gurney (he handles all the SIG CPO sales) and I was surprised to hear that CA is one of their largest markets along with Florida and Texas. He jokingly remarked that they could stop selling to all the rest of the 47 states and the remaining 3 would be enough to pay the bills.

Anyway my experience with them was what I wanted at a good price with reasonable shipping.
Plus they let me do a 60 day layaway. YMMV

Give them a call despite the fact that they won't do OLL's. We have plenty of others that will.

Turners Outdoorsman have some store locations on the OC/LA border. Though the paperwork process is a tedious experience.

If you make a trip down to OC, Ade's Gunshop usually sets the standard for gun buying experience. I know they usually carry a few SIGs, and at least a P220.

Ade just took in an excellent 220 Carry two tone yesterday. I think it was priced at $595. It's a consignment, so no tax.

He also has two consignment fullsize 220's with night sights. One for $595 & I think the other was $695.

And he has a new 220 Combat.

But all this was yesterday. The way things move out of that shop, they could all be gone now.

For Sigs in 45ACP, your options range from the full-sized P220, the somewhat reduced P220 Carry, or the fairly small P245.

THANKS everyone, what great info !!! I guess internet is the way of the future and the future is close to passing me by LOL. I hear good things about Ade's and Im only about 20-25 minutes away from them, a previous post mentioned they have a great price/fee for transfers (turners wants $150). I have to admit I'm a bit aprehensive about buying a gun off the internet and from out of state no less but it sounds like most of you have had positive experiences so if I don't find the Sig .45acp locally Im going to jump on the internet thing once I speak to someone at Ades.

Ya SEMISAM I know the clock is ticking (april) which is why Im trying to get as much info as I can. I did see the post you referenced but was not looking for the full size Sig .45 more along the lines of the compact (I think its the Sig P245??). But if the compact .45 is hard to come by then I'll go full size. I saw a P245 for sale out of MA for $500 (the guy at turner's said it's not on the list, 2 min later I looked for myself and found that it is on the list).

Ade is a great guy and his prices are very reasonable. Finding or buying a pistol online is usually cheaper, but to ship it will usually end up costing you the same as if you bought it from the local gun shop. The P220 Carry is a great P220 variation. It has the softest recoil of all P220's and probably most .45's.

Too bad the 220 Compact didn't make the list. I think the 220 Carry is your best choice. It also looks like the 245 has a longer slide than the 220 Carry.
