Glock 23 Barrel Slightly pointing up?

I feel a bit dumb for asking this, Because when the slide is forward, It's straight (Obviously) However, When the slide is to the rear, The barrel points up and I'm not sure if this is normal, Is it?

I went to the range not too long ago and I was very inaccurate with my glock and I blamed it on myself, But I rented an XD40 while I was there as well and my shot was at least 70% more accurate than with the glock, So that kind of led me to question this.... Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

I think its called the "Browning's tilting barrel"

Its normal.

The barrel is pulled down by the locking block, which allows the barrel to unlock and separate from the slide.

completely normal. You just need practice. Striker fired guns are hard to master.

It isn't always quite that obvious.

Nor it that blanket statement always true. The barrel on the 1911, when in battery (forward) isn't straight...it is pointing downward
