I just did my renewal there not too long ago.

They are friendly people and the class was interesting. The range is quite a drive out from reno, but is neat in that there is a race track near it as well. Would be fun to attend one of the machine gun shoots. It can be tricky to find the place however. (the range, not the classroom). If you go, my advice is as you are driving out there and are on the final main road/highway, there is a road on the left with a metal cattle gate just before a big curve...look for it, that is the entrance. Its a private road, no street signs, etc.

Very reasonable on the price for the class.

Applying for the permit afterwards is fairly straightforward and is done at the sheriff's office. Get there early, there is a wait and lots of people!

permits are only good for a relatively short time for non-residents. This was apparently a compromise to a certain politician who didn't like guns and ccw's to begin with and who opposed reciprocity and non-resident permits altogether.

Washoe county seems a good place to go to apply, one place to go, and they will mail it to you.

      Nye county won't mail them.

Clark county will mail them, but you have to go to three different locations and you have to register each firearm you plan to carry and have listed for your license.

is it a given that the sheriffs office will issue one after you take that course? or do you need to write them something saying why you need a ccw ect?? do they frown upon younger people applying for ccw's? by that i mean 21 years old

Although they asked why i applied for a permit, it was just conversation. they are a "shall issue" state, unlike california which is discretionary. if you meet the requirements, you should be good to go

I got my NV CCW in Clark County (Las Vegas) and after going through the whole thing, I can say that if at all possible, you should go to a different county. LVMPD was a pain in the a**. When I renew, I will be going to a differnt county; Washoe maybe. It took an entire day to handle all the paperwork required.

Nevada is 'shall issue', even for non-residents, so go for it. You have nothing to lose. (except time; waiting around all day in lines in Clark County).

What happen? Can you be more specific, if possible?
