Best 1911 holster

What the best IWB and OWB full size 1911 holster? I prefer it to be leather or suede.

I have the Crossbreed IWB, and I like it a lot. I haven't tried any others so I don't really have anything to compare it to but it is very comfortable.

For IWB holsters I like this one: I carried my LW-Commander in it for awhile and I will be carrying a DW v-bob in it soon enough.

It is a bit hard to conceal with just a t-shirt on but I don't usually carry a 1911 in hot or warm weather.

This IWB holster works better for warmer weather and less clothing: I use one for my 6906 and it works well. Never tried a 1911 in it but I bet it would work fine.

The best IWB holster is a Milt Sparks Versa Max II and Top Gun Supply actually has one in stock right now! Go buy it and don't waste your money on cheaper holsters.

VM2 with a wilderness 5 stitch belt. A 1911 is very heavy and I CCW it daily. I have the Milt Sparks belt and mag pouch but dont use them really. For me I am always between 1 hole and the next on the belt. The Wilderness I can adjust exactly as needed and that may change from morning to the end of the day so the velcro makes that possible.

The VM2 is seriously the nicest holster you can get. Buy one now and then go order another because it wont come in until 6 months. I have 3 now for back ups but my 1st just keeps wearing in perfectly. My Les Baer tore all the stitching from the mouth of the holster and there is still no problem because they make this thing so well. Now that its broke in it looks great in a roughed up black finish and the gun comes out/in as fast as kydex but the fit is exact and not sloppy.

For OWB I bought Raven holsters for each of my CCW guns and love them. It holds the 1911 high and tight to the body so its still possible to conceal with the right shirt. The bottom does peak out if you raise your arms and for my job I am very physical and work with patients so I had to go back IWB for concealment.

I own a Milt Sparks VM2 and for IWB prefer my TT-Gunleather. The weapon rides lower in a TT-Gunleather "Mike's Special" than the VM2 so which is right for you depends on your build and personal preserence. Both have long lead times so if you just want quick and cheap a Nick Mathews is about 1/2 the price and 1/10th the lead time but are a bit crude looking when compared to Sparks or TT.

Back time, about 5 years ago I would have said the Milt Sparks IQM (Idaho Quick Mount).
This was an IWB and OWB by changing the strap configuration. Similar to the VM2.

Yep. I've used all kinds of OWB holsters with varying degrees of success and always come back to the Nelson style holster. I've owned ones made by Alessi, Sparks, Horseshoe Leathers, Bulman and currently one from 5Shot. They're all good. I also like the Alessi CQC/s and similar style (I have one from Bulman) for the convenience.
