Pics of the gun in question are always good to help pin down a particular model.-- Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun

You didn't give us much to go on, such as if it is a 5 shot or 6 shot revolver. I'm going to go ahead and guess that it is an I-FRAME 6-SHOT 32 HAND EJECTOR MODEL OF 1903, SECOND CHANGE. Serial range was 51127 to 95500. Made from 1906 to 1909. I would guess that your revolver was probably produced around 1908.Last edited by Dutch Henry; 09-05-2012, 7:50 PM.Comment

Without seeing pix or more descriptors I'd agree with Dutch Henry. His conclusion makes the most sense as I look at my copy of SCSW. Definitely would like to see a photo or two.
To the OP.... be careful when doing work on old guns, particularly old S&Ws and Colts. If the gun is not new in box, cleaning it up to look really nice can actually take away value. If you want the full story on the gun you can request a factory history letter. There is $50 fee for the letter service.-- Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun
