    Is it then the same?

    Just trying to understand the decocking procedure. My question is if you have a weapon with manual safety and safely lower the hammer on a round would at that point it then be in the same carry condition as one with a decocker? Is it only the safety factor of of lowering the hammer or is there more that I am missing

    Manually lowering the hammer will bypass any firing-pin block (drop safety).

      What handgun model are you inquiring about? Specifics would help in answerring your question.

          Decocking brings it back to that first DA shot.
